CEAC - Advisory Council
What Is It?
CEAC is an advisory council consisting of a representative sample of all end user members. It is used as a forum for a dialogue with IBM on strategic and long term issues.
As with every company in the world, IBM too, has a limited R & D budget and it wants to ensure that it invests these funds in areas that its customers want. CEAC has been established to help them find this optimum balance between the customer requirements and its business investment.

CEAC members are professional IT customers of IBM with visionary ideas and general business knowledge. Their main task is to participate in face-to-face meetings and give feedback to IBM on strategic directions for products and technology. CEAC has been in existence for just over two years and one of its suggested ideas, PHP, is already in V5R4. Other prioritized requirements recommended so far include user interface, data base, application development, BP/ISV relations and pricing.

Why should you care?
We are working in IT in order to improve the quality of life and business effectiveness. Our companies are our means to achieve our goals and we want IBM to help us solve business problems through better and better Information Systems.
